On new years day we (Dani, Emma, Lara) rented a car for two days to do the great ocean road (GoR) trip to the 12 apostles. This is a beautiful drive and even though the weather wasn’t on our side, the views and beaches were just as amazing. We set off about 9 and stopped at Torquay (great for surfing – home of billabong), Anglesey and Lorn on the way up. We arrived at the apostles about 1630 but didn’t take a closer look that day due to what seemed like a million tourists piling off busses. That night we stayed in port campbell in a really nice hostel called the port campbell hostel (original).
Next day we went for a couple of walks; the lock and gorge and the 12 apostles beach walk. These are both a must! We also stopped at Geelong on the way back and had a little sleep on the beach. Lots of places to swim here. There is a great public lagoon to swim in here and great street art.
